Death is more universal than life, everyone dies but not everyone lives. A. Sachs

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Lindsay Ellis Stout who was born in United States on May 7, 1984 and passed away on October 10, 2010. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Lindsay Ellis Stout, 26, passed away October 10, 2010. Lindsay was born on May 7, 1984 to Missy and Brad Stout. Originally from the Indianapolis area, Lindsay had been residing in Chicago for the past six years. She attended Park Tudor School through the fifth grade, then moved into the Carmel, IN school system, graduating from Carmel High School in 2002. She then decided to move to the big city and graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago in 2009. For all who knew Lindsay, there are no words that are powerful enough to describe her energy and magnetism. She was an avid organizer of various events in and around the Chicago area, but was best known as the girl with the crazy red hair who was racing around the city on her fixed gear bike at just about any hour of the day or night. Her latest claim to fame was being on Live with Regis and Kelly last February for an Ambush Makeover. Needless to say, the makeover lasted about two hours and the crazy red hair quickly returned! Lindsay was very fortunate to have travelled to some wonderful places during her lifetime: Safari in Africa, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Canada, a month long journey through Europe and a week in the Costa Rican rain forest, from which she returned the week before she passed.
Lindsay's passion for life was infectious and she greatly touched everyone who knew her. Her spirit will live in our hearts forever.
Lindsay is survived by her parents Missy and Brad Stout; stepmother, Stephanie Stout; brother, Brady Stout; grandfathers, Bruce M. Causey and Harry Stout; uncle, Bruce E. Causey and
aunts, Hilary Salatich, Nancy Hutchins, Cathy Bayse, Wendy O'Brien and Julie Stout.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Anti Cruelty Society at 157 W. Grand Avenue Chicago, IL 60654.
A memorial service for Lindsay was held at the DeBoest Lecture Hall at the Indianapolis Museum of Art on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 5:00 PM. A celebration of her life followed at the IMA, directly after the service

My deepest condolences.  May these few words from the Holy Scriptures bring you comfort in your time of grief...

John 11:32-45

32 And so Mary, when she arrived where Jesus was and caught sight of him, fell at his feet, saying to him: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 Jesus, therefore, when he saw her weeping and the Jews that came with her weeping, groaned in the spirit and became troubled; 34 and he said: “Where have YOU laid him?” They said to him: “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus gave way to tears. 36 Therefore the Jews began to say: “See, what affection he used to have for him!” 37 But some of them said: “Was not this [man] that opened the eyes of the blind man able to prevent this one from dying?”

38 Hence Jesus, after groaning again within himself, came to the memorial tomb. It was, in fact, a cave, and a stone was lying against it. 39 Jesus said: “TAKE the stone away.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to him: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.” 40 Jesus said to her: “Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Therefore they took the stone away. Now Jesus raised his eyes heavenward and said: “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.” 43 And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: “Laz´a·rus, come on out!” 44 The [man] that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth. Jesus said to them: “Loose him and let him go.”

45 Therefore many of the Jews that had come to Mary and that beheld what he did put faith in him;

Dear Stout Family,
Joe and I are so sorry for your loss. I remember Lindsay in kindergarten at Park Tudor, where I was a teaching assistant. She had beautiful blonde curls then. Her blue eyes are the most memorable to me, the way they seemed to look deep into your soul. May God bless you with good friends and family to help you during this difficult time.

I remember Lindsay when she was just a little girl and used to come into the office with her Grandfather and Grandmother. I know that Bruce and Earlene were so very proud of both of their grandchildren. I'm truly sorry for your lose.

My heart goes out to all those who are grieving the loss of Lindsay. Two and a half years ago, when I lost my husband, someone was kind enough to create a memorial website for him and I still visit it daily. Although I did not know her, I have created this memorial in the hope that it can be a place of peace for you as well.

Much love,

Kelly Hettwer
